This Encampment Map, created and maintained by the City of Santa Rosa, shows encampments that are actively monitored by the City for the purpose of increasing community awareness and transparency. The map is updated regularly with the most current information regarding size, type, and status of encampments and any new encampments. Additionally, data is provided from the Debris Response Team which responds to encampments on public property only.

The location of each encampment is estimated and includes surrounding areas. An encampment is defined as a collection of five or more dwellings established by persons experiencing homelessness. A dwelling is a shelter, tent, vehicle or other structure where a person experiencing homelessness sleeps, stores property, and/or regularly engages in other life sustaining activities. While not included in the map, the City does monitor encampments with fewer than five dwellings.

While the map currently does not track outreach efforts of the Homeless Outreach Services Team, operated by Catholic Charities on behalf of the city, those efforts are robust and ongoing, providing community members experiencing homelessness with options for shelter and services.
